Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

Published by poopy head at 8:24 pm under Tennessee Edit This

With tomorrow being Christmas many people turn their thoughts to those who are less fortunate than themselves. In Tennessee the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is designed to help meet the critical heating needs for thousands of low income families across the state. Working in conjunction with the Department of Human Services LIHEAP helps to distribute these vital federal dollars.

Also priority is given to the elderly, the disabled, and families with a child under six years old. Funding is limited so it is important to contact a LIHEAP office in your community as soon as possible to be considered for assistance. Click HERE for a complete list of offices in your community. If you qualify for assistance, that money is paid directly to the utility by LIHEAP. If you or someone you know could benefit from the LIHEAP service encourage them to visit their local office.
