Ryman Auditorium
Originally built in 1882 by Captain Thomas Green Ryman as a tabernacle to hold the city of Nashville’s revivals, Ryman Auditorium is the premier performance hall in the Tennessee capital. The beautiful building was completed and the first revival held in May of 1890. Since that opening day, the Ryman Auditorium has hosted a virtual who’s who from every field, lecturers, preachers, political figures, and performers of every sort. With a capacity of 2,362 seats this beautiful venue offers a more intimate setting in which to see and hear your favorite musician or speaker.
Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, Ryman Auditorium is a must see spot on your next visit. The auditorium is open for day tours for those who would like to get a behind the scenes look at the historic structure. Click HERE for more information on day tours. Though Ryman Auditorium has gone through many incarnations, it remains the venue of choice for modern artists from Tori Amos to Dolly Parton .
