Soddy Daisy High Trojans Step Up
For those of you that are not familiar with high school football in Tennessee, the playoffs are in the second round this weekend. The Soddy Daisy High Trojans step up in the high school playoffs. The Trojans of Soddy Daisy have had a rough time over the last 3 years. Sporting a losing record over this time, the Trojans looked to new head coach E.K. Slaughter , former Red Bank High School offensive coordinator, to bring a substantial change to their 2008 season. Apparently that occurred as they downed Bearden 30-21 last weekend on Bearden’s home turf.
With that said, this weekend poses an even bigger test for the Trojans. This weekend, they will have to face 5A powerhouse Ooltewah. In their first meeting with the Owls this year, the Trojans suffered a massive defeat with a final score of 21-55. This was the last game of the season. Even though the Trojans seemed to be outmatched at every turn, this is High School Football. In sports, you can never count a team out. Bearden learned that lesson last Friday. This game bodes well for the Trojans also in that it is difficult to beat the same team twice. The game will be Friday Night at 7:00 in Ooltewah.
For any fans that love football, this is a game that I would not miss.

Rich, I agree, it is an exciting time.
